Ethical AI in Humanitarian Response and Development
We're getting together an exemplary group for this 3-session live online course to explore how emerging AI technologies are (and should be) reshaping humanitarian response, climate adaptation, children's safety, development, and more, all under the rubric of "AI for good".
Live online
Together, we will critically examine both opportunities and risks, with a focus on responsible, human-centered solutions. While there are things we will certainly be learning, we will also be co-creating projects and shared understandings of these critical issues with fellow experts in our respective fields.
Course Description
In this course, we’ll assess AI in humanitarian and development contexts through urgent and contemporary case studies, ranging from Gaza and Ukraine to climate-driven displacement from small islands. Then we’ll dive into designing rights-based, ethical, and people-centered approaches, with a spotlight on children’s rights. Finally, we’ll lean into co-creative partnerships that equip you to engage with AI in innovative and responsible ways.
