FAQs
Do I need to finish the book before attending?
Ideally, yes, but partial reading is completely welcome. The books are intentionally selected for readability and length so that they are manageable. Once signed up, you’ll get more information about the book, including excerpts.
What are the discussions like?
Sessions are conversational and last approximately 90 minutes. The focus is on exploring ideas, perspectives, and questions together. Initially, sessions will primarily take place online, with occasional in-person gatherings.
Is participation free?
Gatherings are free to join. Special events with guests or facilitated series may include paid participation.
Will guest speakers or authors join?
Occasionally sessions may include invited authors, scholars, or practitioners connected to the themes.
What kinds of books are selected?
The series focuses on works that are under 200 pages, exploring themes of humanity, identity, planetary perspective, ecology, cosmopolitanism, technology, the past and the future. Selections include fiction, essays, philosophy, and speculative works from a range of voices and traditions.
